Child Safety Standards
Last updated: May 21, 2026
1. Who Covey is for
Covey is an adults-only (18+) platform for arranging real-world educational field trips. Children do not create accounts or use the app. Parents and guardians enter limited information about their children solely to arrange and safely run trips, and consent to its collection. Covey is not directed to children and is not part of any kids' or families program.
2. Content moderation & user safety
Covey provides safeguards across all user-generated content (trip listings, reviews, and profile bios):
- Automated filtering of objectionable content when it is submitted.
- In-app reporting of any trip, review, or profile.
- In-app blocking that hides a blocked user's content from your feed.
- A staffed moderation queue; reports are reviewed and actioned within 24 hours.
- A published safety contact: hello@getcovey.app.
3. Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE/CSAM)
Covey has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material or any child sexual exploitation. If such material or conduct is discovered or reported, we:
- Preserve the content and account data as evidence and immediately restrict the offending account.
- Report to the appropriate authorities — the NCMEC CyberTipline and, in Canada, Cybertip.ca (Canadian Centre for Child Protection), plus local law enforcement where required.
- Permanently terminate the offending account(s) and cooperate with any investigation.
4. Reporting & contact
Anyone can report a concern in the app (Report on any trip, review, profile, or conversation; or Settings → Privacy & Safety → Report a safety concern), or by email to hello@getcovey.app. This is also our designated contact for child-safety and compliance matters.
