Venues

Run a place of business kids' activities would love? List your farm, studio, community centre, or workshop on Covey and earn a day rate whenever an educator runs an activity there. Venues must be publicly-accessible places of business — private residences are not permitted. (Free public spaces like parks and libraries don't need a listing — educators can use those directly.)

Why list on Covey?

Earn from empty space

Set a day rate for your venue. When educators book your space for an activity, you earn income from hours that would otherwise sit unused.

You approve every activity

Educators send proposals describing their activity, schedule, and group size. You review and approve or reject each one. Nothing happens without your say-so.

Verified educators only

Every educator using your space has been ID-verified, background-checked, and credential-reviewed. You're not opening your doors to strangers.

Flexible scheduling

You control which days and times your space is available. Block off dates, set seasonal availability, or keep it open year-round.

Bring community to your space

Hosting kids' activities builds goodwill and foot traffic. Farms, studios, and community spaces all benefit from being a Covey venue.

Grow your visibility

Your venue gets its own profile page in the app with photos, amenities, capacity, and reviews. Parents and educators discover you organically.

What kinds of spaces work?

Who can list a venue

Covey is for publicly-accessible places of business — farms, studios, community centres, workshops, indoor playgrounds, makerspaces, museums, gyms, sports facilities, and similar venues that already host the public during normal operations.

Private residences are not permitted, including private backyards, garages, or rooms in someone's home. Spaces must have a documented business presence (business registration, lease, or ownership tied to the place of business) and meet zoning rules for hosting visitors.

Verification requirements

We verify every venue to ensure it's safe and suitable for educator-led activities.

Identity verification

Government-issued photo ID + selfie, verified through Stripe Identity. Same standard as educators and parents.

Proof of ownership or lease

Upload documentation proving you own or have a valid lease for the space. We need to confirm you're authorized to host activities there.

Liability insurance

Valid liability insurance covering your venue. This protects you, the educators, and the families using your space.

Health & safety attestation

Complete an in-app checklist covering accessibility, emergency exits, first aid supplies, washroom access, and general safety. Sign a digital attestation.

Pricing and payouts

You set one day rate for your venue. When an educator runs a trip there, that rate gets added to their fee and divided by the maximum class size — that's the per-child price parents see, locked at publish.

What you actually take home

You and the educator each earn a share of your stated fees proportional to how full the class fills. A packed class = your full day rate (less Covey's 10%). Half-full = roughly half. Parents always pay the listed price; you and the educator absorb the cost of under-booking.

Example: a \$200 educator fee + your \$150 day rate = \$350, ÷ 10 max kids = \$35/child for parents. If 10 kids book, you take \$135 (90% of \$150) and the educator takes \$180. If only 5 kids book, you take ~\$67 and the educator ~\$90 — same per-child price for parents; the under-fill is shared.

You approve every trip

Educators propose dates and group sizes; you approve or decline before the trip is even listed. Nothing books your venue without your say-so.

When you get paid

Payouts release after the trip date plus a short buffer. Funds land in your Stripe-connected bank in ~2 business days.
